The UMass Lowell River Hawks fell short against Boston College during the home-and-home series with consecutive 3-1 losses. Boston College improves to 10-5-1 overall while UMass Lowell moves to 6-10 overall.

Sophomore Mirko Buttazzoni scored the lone goal for the River Hawks during Friday night’s game at the Tsgongas Center, while his brother Diego Buttazzoni scored the lone goal for Lowell during Saturday night’s game at Conte Forum. Boston College opened the scoring in both games as Boston Bruins prospect Dean Letourneau notched three goals in the two games played combined.

The River Hawks showed some fight and spent some quality time on attack especially during Saturday's game on the road but ultimately came up short. It was a physical and high-paced series with both teams racking up penalty minutes. The River Hawks weren’t able to get on the scoresheet early enough in both of these games and that ultimately cost them. The third period was their best period in both games played.

Next, the River Hawks head on the road to Maine for Wednesday night’s game at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
